Job Description
  • To manage the construction projects from initiation to closure, through external consultants / contractors, and ensure project completion in a timely manner and within budget.
  • Actively participates in call for tender and tender evaluation process for Construction projects.
  • Initiates the construction project initiation process such as kick off meeting with the contractor, consultant and internal ICT departments, advance payment to the contractor etc.
  • Escalates any delays in obtaining statutory approval to Planning & Design Director and ensures its speedy resolution.
  • Reviews the construction programme as developed by the consultant and ensures it has all the relevant elements.
  • Reviews the tracking of the work completion as done by the consultants.
  • Reviews the payment certificate and submits it to appropriate authority as per DoA for approval; ensures timely payment is made to the contractor.
  • Oversees the process of sub — contracting as carried out by the contractor.
  • Reviews the weekly and monthly project status and informs the relevant stakeholders of the same.
  • Coordinates with the consultants in preparation of Variation Orders and obtaining approval of the same.
  • Reviews project cost status on a monthly basis (based on Project Cost Summary report prepared by consultants).
  • Reviews progress of project program on a daily basis based on daily status report prepared by the contractor.
  • Reviews fortnightly look ahead program as developed by the contractor and signs off the same.
  • Reviews construction program summary report and provides inputs (if any) to the consultant.
  • Reviews time extension request and impact of the same as developed by the consultant and communicates the status of approval to the consultant.
  • Manages the construction project closure procedures such as arranging for physical verification of project completion, going ahead for issuance of handover certificate etc.
  • Performs any other relevant task as directed by CDO.
Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferably in Civil Engineering
  • 8-12 years of experience in Construction Management with at least 3 years relevant managerial experience
