Job Description:The accountant plays a crucial role in the financial management and reporting of an organization. They are responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, analyzing financial data, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. The accountant collaborates with various departments and stakeholders to provide financial insights and support informed decision-making.Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and update financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable and expense reports. Ensure accuracy and completeness of all financial transactions.
  • Manage booking of vendor invoices as per the company policy, ensuring a 3-way match, completeness, accuracy, and timeliness in the process.
  • Reporting/Working on AP KPIs on a regular/ adhoc basis:
  • AP days
  • SOA reconciliations
  • Resolution of vendor invoice disputes
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
  • Monitor tax implications from transactions with vendors; inadmissible cost components and coordinating with CPD to minimize the costs through planning; leading to an improved ICV score.
  • Monitor actual performance against budgeted targets and provide variance analysis. Make recommendations for cost-saving measures and operational efficiencies.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and company policies.
  • Utilize accounting software and financial management systems to record and process financial transactions. Recommend improvements to existing systems and workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data. Identify risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Prepare timely reconciliations and payments certificate for vendors and collection from customers in coordination with HQ Finance.
  • Ensure the accuracy of the data by preparing regular reconciliation reports for key stakeholders using Maqta payment system on regular basis.
  • Coordinate and prepare monthly cost accruals and all the data reconciliations to support the smooth monthly closing.
  • Perform other relevant functions in the finance department/section as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance/accounting/ ACCA/ ACA.
  • Solid interest, aptitude for, and experience with critical, complicated analytical work and creative thinking.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and related technologies.
  • Attention to details and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to multitask and meet constant deadlines.
  • Excellent data analysis and ability to reconcile complex information.
  • Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Able to work effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.
  • Works independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.

  • Arabic - Mandatory
  • Minimum 10 years of total experience in the field of Accounts and Finance.
  • Should have experience in Ports, Technology, or management consulting/ Audit Firms.
