- Work collaboratively with IT team members and business stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals and to identify and resolve business systems issues.
- Perform real time monitoring of IT Infrastructure to ensure services are available by taking proactive actions.
- Design and perform server and security audits, system backup procedures and other recovery processes in accordance with the university's disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
- Conduct research on software and systems products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.
- Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes and service records.
- Monitor & resolve IT Service Desk tickets assigned to the escalation queue based on priority.
- Manage the infrastructure environment of all types, including Storage (NetApp), Servers (Physical and Virtual), Virtual Infrastructure (VMware), Backup (Veeam, Cohesity), Cloud Services (Azure, AWS, OCI). This includes day-to-day operations, as well as regular patches and maintenance.
- Automate and enhance processes where possible.
- Manage Microsoft technologies: Active Directory, SCCM, Azure Entra ID, Intune.
- Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using DevOps practices.
- Transfer knowledge and experience to the rest of the team.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (Computer Science/Engineering)
- At least 7 years of relevant experience in Cloud management (Azure, AWS).
- Knowledge and experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Windows.
- Knowledge and strong experience with Microsoft Technologies, mainly Active Directory and Azure Entra ID.
- Experience in Enterprise Server & Storage management (CISCO UCS, NetApp, …).
- Software integration skills utilizing programming languages (Perl, Python, VB, …).
- Experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using DevOps practices.
- Solid experience in IT foundation services (DNS/DHCP, Virtualization, Backup, Storage, logs management, and key networking aspects).
- Knowledge and experience with patch & vulnerability management systems
- Self-motivated and able to provide solutions based on independent research.
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English.
- Capable of multi-tasking.
- Team worker.
- Flexible to work outside regular Business hours and is expected to be on call when needed to support the services.
- UAE nationals are preferred.
- A master's degree in a related field (Computer Science/Engineering).
- Certifications in related technologies (Azure, AWS, VMware, …).
- Experience in setting and managing an HCI environment (like Nutanix).
- Experience in integration or automation tools (Ansible, Boomi, …).
- Experience in the following technologies: VMware, Cohesity, Veeam, Infoblox, NetApp.
- Experience in Email services management, including Google Workspace and Microsoft Exchange.
