- Provides the full range of psychiatric diagnosis and treatment to patients both the inpatient and outpatient.
- Handles consultations of cases referred to him from other services by offering clinical advice or assuming full responsibility of the care.
- Contributes to the orientation of physicians, psychologists, nurses and other Medical Organization personnel in the early detection, recognition, management or referral of psychiatric cases.
- Participates in the continuing medical education for physicians and nurses by talks in staff meetings, presenting cases in ward rounds, and lecturing to nurses.
- Participates in teaching and quality assurance programs.
- Graduation from an approved medical school plus one year of internship and three years of residency; certification by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology or Member of the Royal College of Physicians (or its equivalent).
- At least five (3) years of practice as a psychiatrist after certification.
- Excellent command of oral and written English. Knowledge of Arabic language is desirable but not essential.
- Must be highly skilled in the particular field of practice, with mature clinical judgment and ability to provide professional leadership.
