Job Description:DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Performs medication appropriateness review and follow the ten rights of medication administration
  • Demonstrates competency in performing intramuscular and intravenous medication administration as per the medical drug policies.
  • Do patient assessment of the patient before giving and after giving medication.
  • Monitor the patient for side effects of administered medication and educate the patient regarding the medication indication, side effects and possible complications.
  • Performs minor procedure including suture removal, wound care, nebulization, blood glucose monitoring, spirometry, oxygen administration and ECG.
  • Complies with aseptic technique upon doing procedure.
  • Supervising novice nurses in performing triage, dressing, blood glucose monitoring and other nursing related procedures.
  • Demonstrates professional behavior in providing nursing care and ensures maintaining of nursing standards.
  • Demonstrates competency in nursing documentation and nursing process.
  • Identifies and implements health promotion strategies for early detection and screening for communicable diseases.
  • Identifies scientific advances and uses technology as appropriate to enhance patient care.
  • Demonstrates the ability to self-regulate through ongoing reflection and assessment of competency to practice.
  • Competent with cardio-pulmonary resuscitation technique.
  • Complies with established Nursing Department Policies and Procedures.
  • Maintains and updates all relevant patient documentations/medical records as per hospital policy and procedures.
  • Maintains confidentiality of patient's records.
  • Assess the patient and family education needs and provide health education.
  • Demonstrate awareness of fire safety, patient safety, infection control and the other necessary precautions as per hospital policy.
  • Takes responsibility for the ward/unit in the absence of the head nurse as assigned by the nursing administration.
  • Takes responsibility for professional clinical practice and is actively involved in updating and continuing education.
  • Attends and participates in Ward/Unit meetings.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities within nursing department

Qualifications:QUALIFICATION, LICENSURE, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SPECIAL SKILLS: * Bachelor of Science in Nursing/Diploma in Nursing.
  • Current license in country of origin and with DOH license
  • 2 years nursing experience after qualification.
  • Good English spoken & written, Arabic language is essential
