Careem operates in over 70 cities across 10 countries, from Morocco to Pakistan.About the teamThe marketing team at Careem is responsible for powering the growth of Careem's everything app customer base, transactions and GTV by harvesting the rich data Careem has on its customers and driving activation, graduation, cross sell and retention journeys for the platform. This is a central team that takes a platform view of the customer and at the same time works closely with the business verticals to help deliver their growth objectives. The team also collaborates with the growth platform product team to continuously evolve our product capabilities that drive the growth machine at scale and for all our cities in the region.You will be working with VP of Marketing and Public Affairs, to manage Careem's mixed media model to continuously optimise advertising channel selection and allocate demand budget among business units and between ad and promo spend. You will also collaborate closely with Strategic Finance to support business modelling.What you'll do
  • Support the VP of Marketing and Corporate Affairs leveraging a sophisticated, custom-built media mix optimisation model to dynamically reallocate marketing spend across channels, between ads and promos, and among business verticals.
  • Collaborate with the Strategic Finance team to track and analyse weekly performance against the overall platform-level demand model projecting how deviations from the plan across new user acquisition, activation, graduation and retention rates, ARPU, orders per-users impact each other and necessitate changes in strategy.
  • Project based analysis of platform-level customer behaviour trends such as how different combinations of experiences impact retention, CLTV, cross-sell and OPU trends.
What you'll need
  • 3-5+ years of relevant experience including at least 3 years working in business modelling.
  • Bachelors/Masters degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field.
  • Ability to translate unstructured data and metrics into actionable insights.
  • Excellent data led storytelling and visualisation skills.
  • Comfort presenting complex analysis in simple, easy to digest formats to senior stakeholders.
  • Advanced SQL skills; ability to write complex queries from scratch from multiple tables, creating the appropriate joins, extracting and manipulating data, formatting fields, creating new measures and metrics, etc.
  • Working experience with visualisation tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.), ability to create interactive, user-friendly, and compelling dashboards and reports.
  • Fluency with an advanced analytical tool (Python, R, SAS, etc.) - ability to run advanced statistical modelling and testing in one of the above languages.
  • Experience in working with databases and data mining techniques in a business environment.
  • Ability to quickly evaluate the financial impact of various business scenarios and provide recommendations for optimization.
  • Understanding of data warehousing and data modelling concepts.
