:JOB PURPOSE:Evaluates and recommends pre-engineering and engineering concepts, designs and development for the Pipeline systems associated with the Company's oil and gas production.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:· Acts as Company’s ultimate technical authority in Pipeline engineering provides guidance and support to engineers in the discipline. Act as reference point for all the technical issues in the discipline.· Prepare and review the technical sessions, documents, specifications, data sheets, pipeline and construction design calculations and drawings for all company pipelines projects.· Review and update current standards and specifications for Pipeline and amend requirements from the lessons learned and new practices / field trails.· Recommends and designs studies to evaluate and identify the most appropriate and cost effective design concepts. Pipeline designs are consistent with industry codes, company standard and practices.· Leads the technical and commercial evaluation aspects of project work as related to pipeline systems according to project requirement.· Reviews, validates and endorses recommendations, cost estimates and appropriate technical backup.· Create new construction requirements of SAW pipelines to suit with Sour Service and Integrity requirements.· Reviews the overall pipeline calculations and design based on field operational conditions.· Develop new techniques or approaches to improve the operating performance of the pipelines.· Endorses selection of the pipeline construction design including investigation and recommendation of contractors’ analysis.· Prepare case studies to evaluate new technology for pipeline and evaluate / introduce international good practice.· Lead investigations of pipeline failures during construction and operation stages. Prepare and approve new pipeline design based on new technologies and successful field trails.Supervision· Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.· Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.Budgets· Provide input for preparation of the Section / Department budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver Section objectives.· Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost controlPolicies, Systems, Processes & Procedures· Implement approved Section / Department policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the Section’s / Department work programs in line with Company and International standards.Performance Management· Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Section / Department in line with the Company Performance framework.Innovation and Continuous Improvement· Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.· Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability· Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and Code of Practices.Reports· Provide inputs to prepare Section MIS and progress reports for Company Management.RequirementsMinimum Qualification· Bachelor Degree in Mechanical EngineeringMinimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills· 8 years of experience in design and development of projects related to oil and gas industry
