- Overseeing the implementation and achievement of the strategic objectives and objectives of the department
- Directing the preparation, allocation and use of the section's budget and the exercise of expenditure control when needed
- Monitoring key performance indicators of department operations and staff and recommending improvements in line with strategic objectives at the system level as a whole
- Take responsibility for shaping the department's workforce by determining the level of staff availability required and the ability to achieve the department's strategic objectives and plans
- Provide professional development support by providing effective feedback and evaluating the performance of department staff
- Support efforts in aspects of cooperation, innovation, innovative thinking, and improved department-level processes
