- Acts as the technical Advisor in the field of Electrical Engineering and provides necessary guidance/advice to the various Asset Teams within EMPD and other divisions.· Acts as Ultimate technical authority in Electrical Design and Engineering responsible for assuring that design is optimum, HSE compliant and meets operational requirements and ensure timely approval of all technical deviations as raised by either Project teams or Forums, approval of various Reviews Closed out Reports such as HAZOP, Value Engineering, Peer Technical Reviews (PTRs)
- Acts as the technical advisor to Engineering Management on the development of corporate guidelines that involves the Electrical Engineering input, including issues such as advice on development required for electrical grid to meet the forecast, power interface issues with ADWEA & GASCO etc.
- Participates in various design reviews including Value Engineering and Peer Technical Reviews in the different phases of the project (Concept/FEED/EPC) to ensure the technical soundness of Electrical Design.
- Leads/Participates in various task force/committees such as development of Electrical grid and facilities, electrical trouble shooting in the existing plants or development of guidelines related to certain new technologies.
- Participates/Leads and directs the preparation and presentation of Screening/Option Analysis and Conceptual Design work related to new field development in all field areas, as required by Company’s Major Projects Approval Process.
- Initiates, directs and coordinates the standardization of Electrical design work, including design basis, specifications and philosophies. Ensures correct and consistent design practices (such as codes and standards, specifications and philosophies) are applied across various projects in different fields
- Identify system bottlenecks for inter-bus transfer of power and prepare project definition for measures to overcome such constraints.
- Prepare plans for replacement obsolete electrical equipment with least disturbance to Operations.
- Initiate new comprehensive studies as and when required due to major system changes or expansion of power system
- Monitor power system expansion in different OPCOs and advice remedial measures to comply with Utility Company’s power quality requirements at point of common coupling.
